Pre-Departure Briefings
Everything you need to know before you arrive in the UK
Preparing for Your New Life in the UK
The weeks before you leave for the UK can be both exciting and nerve-wracking. Our pre-departure briefings are designed to ensure you arrive confident, well-prepared, and ready to hit the ground running. We cover the practical, cultural, and emotional aspects of the transition so that nothing catches you off guard.
Our briefing sessions are led by advisors who have firsthand experience of the UK education system and understand the specific challenges international students face. We cover essential topics such as booking flights, navigating UK airports, opening a UK bank account, registering with a GP (doctor), understanding the NHS, and setting up a UK phone number. We also address cultural differences, social norms, and academic expectations.
Each student receives a comprehensive pre-departure pack including checklists, important contact numbers, a guide to their university city, and tips from current students. We also run group sessions where you can meet other students heading to the same city or university, helping you build connections before you even arrive.
