Obtain Your CAS

Prepare Financial Documents
You must prove you can pay tuition fees and living costs. Show funds covering your first year's tuition (stated on CAS) plus 9 months of living costs: 1,334/month outside London or 1,534/month in London. Funds must be held for at least 28 consecutive days before application.

- Bank statements must be in English or officially translated
- UAE, Saudi, and Qatari bank statements are typically accepted
- If sponsored, provide sponsor's bank statements and authorization letter

English Language Requirements
Most visa applications require evidence of English proficiency. UKVI-approved IELTS is commonly accepted. Some applicants from Gulf states with English-medium secondary education may have this waived - check your specific situation.

- IELTS for UKVI is different from standard Academic IELTS
- Many Gulf universities teaching in English qualify for exemption
- Check if your country is on the majority English-speaking list
Complete the Online Application
Apply online through the UK government visa website. Select "Student visa" and fill in all sections accurately. You'll need your CAS reference number, passport details, and travel history. Application fee is approximately 490 for outside-UK applications.

- Save your application regularly - sessions time out

Book Biometrics Appointment
After completing the online form, book an appointment at a VFS Global center to submit biometrics (fingerprints and photo). Centers are available in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Jeddah, Doha, and other major cities. Premium services for faster processing are available.

Attend Your Appointment
Bring your passport, appointment confirmation, and supporting documents. Biometrics will be taken, and you may need to submit your passport for visa vignette placement. You can opt to keep your passport and collect the visa later.

- Arrive 15 minutes early
- Dress appropriately for the photo
- Consider the passport return service if you need to travel
Wait for Decision
Standard processing takes 3-4 weeks. You'll receive notification when a decision is made. If approved, your passport will contain a 90-day vignette to enter the UK. Collect your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) within 10 days of arrival.
